Dr. Pamela Gallagher, Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Pamela Gallagher is a board-certified plastic surgeon with more than 25 years of experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. One of the region’s leading authorities on the latest cosmetic surgery techniques, she has lectured widely on many topics in plastic surgery and has authored numerous articles in both professional and consumer media. In addition, she has served as Clinical Instructor in the Division of Plastic Surgery, Cornell University Medical College at North Shore University Hospital – where she trained hundreds of plastic surgeons in techniques including body sculpting, liposuction, breast augmentation and reconstructive procedures.

Highly regarded as an innovator in the world of plastic surgery, she is an established leader in cleft lip and cleft palate surgery. She currently serves as the Medical Director of the Nassau Cleft Palate Center and the Hagedorn Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Center at North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset. As a founding member of the Board of Directors for the New York State Federation of Craniofacial and Cleft Palate Centers, Dr. Gallagher is especially dedicated to children. She is also Associate Director at the St. Charles Cleft Palate Clinic and often consults at Winthrop, Mercy and Good Samaritan hospitals on difficult cases.

In addition to board-certification through the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Dr. Gallagher is a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons and a member of many national and regional professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Cleft Palate Association, the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons, the Nassau County Medical Society, the New York City Medical Women’s Association, the New York Regional Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the Nassau Surgical Society.

Dr. Gallagher graduated AOA from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and completed her General Surgical Residency and Residency Training in Plastic Surgery at Cornell University Medical Center at New York Hospital in Manhattan. She is known through out the region for her volunteer work with Heal the Children and continues with her team of volunteer specialists and area hospitals to offer services to those without resources internationally. She is a recipient of the 1999 March of Dimes “Women of Distinction” award, and continues to be active in a number of local charities and causes.

Cassandra Trimarco, Board Certified Physician Assistant

Cassandra Trimarco, Board Certified Physician Assistant, has been with our practice since August 2005 and is an integral member of the team at Island Plastic Surgery. She supports the surgeons by providing history and physicals, pre- and post-operative care, as well as assists in any office procedures as needed. Furthermore, she participates in all aspects of numerous surgical procedures, and has received advanced training in the art of administering injections such as sclerotherapy, lipotherapy and Botox® Cosmetic. Cassandra also performs most of our aesthetic services such as laser hair reduction, photo-facials, outpatient chemical peels, skin care consultations and eyebrow shaping.

Cassandra graduated Cum Laude from Saint John’s University in Jamaica, Queens, with a Bachelor’s degree in Science. She then attended Physician Assistant School at Saint Anthony’s Nursing Institute and Allied Health Professions in Fresh Meadows, Queens, a division of Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers. In addition to achieving Dean’s Honor List each year, she received the “Women in Math and Science” Award, a “Clinical Excellence” award upon graduation for having achieved the highest grade amongst her classmates and was asked to be an adjunct professor at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY directly out of training.

Cassandra is an active member of several professional organizations including American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), New York State Society of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA), and the American Academy of Surgical Physician Assistants (AASPA).

Cassandra brings a sense of comfort and enthusiasm to the practice and maintains a sense of responsibility, professionalism, and dependability. Together with the staff of Island Plastic Surgery, she provides the utmost patient care, a very calming bedside manner, and spectacular results.


Andrea Klein, Board Certified Registered Physician Assistant

Andrea Klein is a board certified registered physician assistant (RPA) licensed to practice medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician. Andrea has obtained advanced surgical training in plastic surgery while under the direction of Dr. Pamela Gallagher whom she has worked with for over five years. Andrea is an experienced and skilled practitioner who possesses the knowledge, skills, and judgment needed to assist plastic surgeons in the care of patients in surgical, acute care, and outpatient settings.

A valuable member of the health care team at Island Plastic Surgery, Andrea assists the surgeons by providing accurate histories and physicals, as well as pre- and post- operative care. She is also a valuable assistant with routine office procedures. Andrea is capable of performing tasks such as first assist in the operating room and wound closure in a multitude of surgical procedures. She has received training in laser hair reduction, skin care treatments, lipo-therapy injections, treatment of veins with laser and sclerotherapy, collagen injections, and advanced training in the art of administering Botox® injections. She is known for her efficient and excellent patient care, above standard assistance in the operating room, and her sensitive and personalized attention which she offers to each patients by helping them with any concerns they may have either before or after surgery.

Andrea is a fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA), American Association of Surgical Physician Assistants (AASPA), as well as a member of the New York State Academy of Physician Assistants (NYSSPA). She received her Physician Assistant degree from Touro College Physician Assistant Program, and she received her certification to practice after passing the Physician Assistant Certification Examination (PANCE) in 2001. Andrea also earned special recognition for achievement in and knowledge of surgery on the national surgery examination. In addition to her training and role as a surgical Physician Assistant, she is currently certified in basic cardiac life support.
