What Is a Butt Lift?
Butt lifts are surgical procedures that resize and reshape the buttocks. Depending on the current size and shape of patients’ buttocks, a butt lift might involve liposuction to remove fat and decrease the size, or fat injections or implants to increase size. (The Brazilian Butt Lift, in particular, uses fat injections to reshape the buttocks and increase their size.) For patients experiencing sagging buttocks, a tightening butt lift may be performed where the buttocks are lifted and tightened by removing excess tissue and tightening skin.
Who Is a Candidate for the Butt Lift?
Because buttock enhancement encompasses various techniques, there is a good chance that you will be suitable for the procedure. For patients who are overweight, fat injections, also known as the Brazilian Butt Lift, maybe the most appropriate option. Thinner individuals may get the best results from implants or butt lift surgery. Most of our patients have the following concerns:
- Unhappy with the size and shape
- Poor skin tone
- Loose or excess skin
- Stretch marks
- Cellulite
If your buttocks are very large, then you may first benefit from liposuction to reduce overall size. If, on the contrary, you want larger buttocks with more projection, then you might be better served with a butt implant or fat injection to the buttocks. Implants or fat injections will fill out the butt and lift the buttocks. However, if your buttocks are sagging, but do not want an augmentation, your butt can be lifted by removing tissue and tightening the skin. If the sag is minimal, then a “butt wedge” excision might be indicated. The tissue is excised at the buttock crease and leaves a relatively unnoticeable scar.
Buttock Liposuction

Your surgeon will make little incisions in the target areas and then inject a solution to limit blood loss and reduce discomfort. A thin, hollow tube, called a cannula, will be inserted into the fat to break it up and then vacuum it out. Because of the small size of the incisions, our patients experience minimal scarring.
